Stallion

Well I just did something that some might call stupid, others smart. I bought my first stallion.

BBR Ryskaberry San

He is a 15.2hh Buckskin Tobiano Paint Stallion. He has 10mths Pro training and is ready to show. I traded my 2 year old Black Tobiano Paint Filly + $1000 for him. It was a good deal.

I pick him up Sunday at 10am in Baker City (half-way). His pre-purchase exam is Wednesday so I hope all checks out good.

Germany

Ok, so I had some money in my "emergency fund" and it was just enough to buy 1 ticket to Germany for 20 days over Winter break 2008. I will be going to see Anna December 15 - January 5!

She has told me that we are going to lots of parties and visit some of the fun places nearby. We will also visit her Uni (University) in the Netherlands, and I also get to spend time with her family over the holidays. Christmas is different over there. She explained some of it while she was here, but they spend 3 solid days celebrating Christmas. Day 1 is something like festivals in Rastdorf and surrounding villages, then Day 2 is family dinners all day and Day 3 is parties with people your own age :) (all night long!) ... Then I also get to celebrate and bring in the New Year with her and her friends (probably at a party lol) ... Thats all people my age in Germany do I guess!

I'll update as I learn more!

Update

Well, thought I'd catch up real quick.

I just got back a couple days ago from Reno, NV and from visiting Matt and Kelsey, Mesa and Mylie. I brought back a couple yearlings for a competition like Matt is doing (except I don't ride them). I named them Fallon and Maverik, Nevada theme. Fallon is a town and Maverik is a casino. I was considering going with Fallon and Vegas but then I saw Maverik on a truck on the way back (casino truck) and thought ... I like it!!! lol. Stopped over again at Matt and Kelsey's and worked with the yearlings in his round pen and was able to handle them a little bit. For more info on them read the blog I'm keeping http://vamustangs007.blogspot.com ... Theirs pics and more.

I am going to my first show in 2 years this saturday with Aspen, and I'm taking the yearlings to stand tied to the trailer (what better way to get them bombproof hehe).

I will hopefully see a bit of family this weekend as well for memorial day.

School is boring and hate to admit kind of an afterthought. My grades are still good, but it's more just in the way of life lol. But I'm getting through it, slowly but surely. I am taking 3 courses this summer 8 credit hours. 1 gets me out of doing the WHOLE Biology series and Botony 202 YAY. One is Health and Fitness (much easier as an online course). and then retaking Business Administrations 114. It's all good.

Anyways, gonna be late to class, I'll keep updated occasionally!

Mothers Day

Wow a lot has happened since my last post. The training horse I WAS training went home, the owner decided she "didn't like my methods" and said I was abusing her horse, which for the records isn't true considering I never even whacked the horse CA style. So with all that drama.. grrr.

I leave Wednesday for Matt and Kelseys with my trailer and mom. I am hauling Peyton down for a potential buyer and then heading on to Palomino Valley, Nevada from there. I was accepted as a trainer for the Yearling Mustang Edition: 007. I am one of only 4 trainers in Oregon. I will be bringing the two yearlings home Saturday/Sunday. I will create a seperate blog for them and post the link on here.

I decided to hold off training Kiya under saddle a little longer, I feel she just needs to mature mentally a bit more before I ride her. It was worth the try though and I wouldn't have known If I hadn't of.

School is fine, didn't have any mid-term tests, only 1 mid-term paper. I have an A in Speech 112, an A in Animal Science 438, an A in Animal Science 410 and I believe I have a B in History 201. My classes aren't too bad this term. 410 is an internship, 438 is super easy, 201 is my most challenging class but it's not overwhelmingly so, just enough to make me happy to have a low B. and 112 is and always will be super easy as I have no problems in speaking publicly as anybody who has been around me for more then 5 minutes knows how much I love to talk.

My sisters dog came home and is now my dog for at the very least the next 2 years. I took him in to get him fixed (6mth present lol) and he's been a sour puss all week. but he'll live.

I am now giving lessons to 2 five year olds (1 girl and 1 boy), and one adult. Despite only having 3 people at the moment, I am giving 4-5 lessons a week, and making decent money for not having living expenses. It's enough to keep me busy.

Anyways.. enjoy your Mothers Day celebrations!
