Well I leave to head back to Corvallis in 3 Full days. I leave Monday Morning (the 14th). I am actually fairly excited to get back to my student life for a bit. I know the excitement won't last long but I am so sick of dealing with unhappy people it's a relief to know I am done in 2 days with dealing, then 1 day to pack, and off I go.
So Tuesday was a horrible, shitty, crappy, all around TERRIBLE day. I found out my Grandpa's cancer is terminal, A sales client decided to get pissy about a contract (still waiting for the spouses phone call ...), A lesson students mom got the wrong location and missed a lesson, and I was just ready to crawl into a hole and avoid people. I was already tired and stressed. It was also my first day of Physical Therapy.
Lucky the mom called and apologized for her error and for blaming me, still awaiting the husbands phone call on the unhappy contract, and I have had physical therapy every day this week and besides having sore muscles I feel good!
I went for a ride Wednesday morning with a friend of mine around my parents farm and my mare decided to be a brat and crop hop which could have turned out really bad if I wasn't leaning back from coming down a hill. It could have really torqued my back! She got her butt schooled all the way home. C-Patterns for Dess at the lope!!! About 150 of em!!!! She seemed to know her mistake quite well.
Tonight was the Mavericks playday and my 7 year old student Tayla did VERY well. She still about forgot her patterns (don't know what I am going to do with that kid lol) but she RAN the barrels and probably shaved 5-10 seconds off her time on the run home! I was impressed. My other student riding his own horse loped EVERY single pattern which is a HUGE feat for him who normally doesn't lope very often.
I decided to quit giving "Riding" lessons and start giving "Horsemanship" lessons BEFORE riding lessons. I may end up losing some students but I am OK with that. They weren't students I enjoyed anyways if thats the case!
I am taking Dess to school with me this year. Lots of Groundwork for miss Dessy pooh. She has some manners to work out. My friend offered to pony her on the trails with me until she gets comfortable on them so I don't hurt my back if she went to try anything. That was thoughtful and a request I am accepting!
I am on Feeding duty every weekday morning for the next 2 weeks (excluding Monday of course) at my boarding barn. This means EARLY mornings for miss Jaci! Oh well, I can deal. 5am isn't THAT bad!
Anyways ... Still 2 more days of Hell to live through and might want to do so with some sleep so more updates later!
