Chief Joseph Days

This last weekend I spent with my MOMS side of the family. WOW a lot of family in one full week hehe.

We celebrated My grandma Betty's 60th Rodeo Court Anniversary this year (She was princess). It was really funny as my cousin Miley drug her mom (my cousin Kelsey) out to hug Smokey Bear, then when she got their attacked him and started bawling. It was HILARIOUS. She just turned 2 early summer. My cousin Mesa (Miley's big sis) turned 5 in June, and she really enjoyed the parade.

Then we had snacks at a park, then we split. Some of us went to the Lake, and some went back to Wallowa. I went to the lake, we got Shaved Ice, I took pictures while the rest rode Go Karts (love getting action pics lol) and then we went to the Lake. The girls (Miley and Mesa) swam, My cousins Jacob and Noah (9 and 6 or 8 and 6) built sand castles. Then we headed back to Wallowa for a BBQ for my GM Betty's B-Day. After we squeezed that in, we all headed BACK to Joseph for the Rodeo.

I love rodeo's and besides the place being packed, it was really good. Some riders were great, others weren't. The Bulls won, I think only one rode it out. My fave event this time round was Bareback (as always) and wild cow milking. One guy got drug on his stomach over half the arena length because he REFUSED to let go. I had a side ache I was laughing so hard. The next group tried to dally the cow around a fence post when she got away from the guys. that was smart of him (if it would have worked). One guy got hurt pretty bad (stepped on in the middle of his spine) and it was in front of the gate to let the horse out, so the outrider had the probably around 1250-1300lb bronc dally'd on his horn and the sucker hauled back a few times, and one time went straight up then hit the ground backwards but came down at a sideways angle pulled the outriders saddle out from under him (nearly made the outhorse fall on the other horse on the ground) and the outrider went tumbling OVER the bronc on the ground and somehow managed to not get hurt (twisted ankle i think) and his horse was skittish but fine and the idiot bronc got loose and was terrorizing the EMT's as they were trying to get the guy on a stretcher and get him out of there without hurting him more. They said later that he was on his way to La Grande but he wasn't seriously injured. They were taking all precautions though.

Wedding

On the 18th I attended my Cousin Ian and his now wife Shayna's wedding. It was really different then traditional weddings and I believe the term is Cascadia? Very earthy and for lack of a better term "hippy-ish" But it was really fun in the long run. Had some "deep" convo's with some interesting people and even danced some.

Then we celebrated my grandparents 50th anniversary on the Sternwheeler. I'll upload a pic of the whole family that made it.

It was really nice seeing people I havent seen in a long while including Shayna and Ian, My cousin Joy, and I finally got to meet her toddler son Aizik (A-Zick). I also got to see my cousin Tim who I havent seen in probably around 10 years or more, and got to meet his wife Megan. I also saw my Aunt Donna and Uncle Brad, Aunt Penny and Uncle Tom, Both my sisters, people in our "extended" family (we are a mix and match family hehe). These included Brads son and his wife Breelee (sp?) and their son Ravi (18mths?) Overall it was fun.

Even though Shayna and Ian had just got married, they postponed their honeymoon so they could all celebrate family with us on the Sternwheeler.

In the end, glad it was over, too much family for too long = very high emotions! hehe but I enjoyed it.

Brother Where Art Thou

hehe, I love coming up with titles. Well last Sunday my "brother" Michael came with his girlfriend Sabine from Switzerland to visit all of his host families and friends. I got to spend about an hour with them (with my parents) and got to hear some good updates. I haven't seen him in 8 years so it was a real pleasure.
Here are some pictures (i was NEVER ready for that camera to snap *ugg*)

The mustangs are doing good... Don't forget their blog is at http://vamustangs007.blogspot.com

My entire family (for the most part) are coming up for Chief Joseph Days in a few weeks, and in a couple weeks my cousin Ian and his fiance Shayna are getting married in Hood River, and the day after the wedding we will be celebrating my Grandpa and Grandma Weishaar's 50th wedding Anniversary.

I am FOR SURE going to Oregon State this fall. I am going to be pledging into the Sigma Alpha Sorority. Their isn't a main house, and it is a professional sorority (not social) and is 100% ag. Our "brothers" are the Alpha Gamma Rho's which is my dad's "alma mater."

(Oh and I cut my hair, pics later)
