Finally it's summer. I went to my first show in over a year today. I had fun on Peyton, it was the last show I will do with him as I have leased him out to a really nice family that I give lessons to. They are considering buying him. If they choose not to, they will lease him until I can sell him. I got 5th in Showmanship and 5th in English Pleasure 19-39. I got 6th in Western Pleasure 19-39. Peyton did good for only being ridden about 5 times since last summer.
Schools out for most but I am taking 15 credit hours this summer. Yuck. I just want to get through with it all.
The stallion didn't work out. He ended up with a bone spur in his front leg and I didn't want to deal with that so I returned him. However, the owners bought my Paint filly, Kiya, anyways so she now has a good home in Adrian, OR.
If I can get my moms horse sold, and continue making progress with my lessons by gaining more and more students, then I will be able to keep Fallon, one of the mustang yearlings I am working with. She's such a doll and she has HUGE legs and bone, which is what I have been looking for for a very long time. She will make a great riding horse someday and I can only hope it will be with me.
I have 54 days until the Mustang Challenge, which means I have 54 days to prove I can make enough money to support all my horses (including Fallon).
Right now my horse count is:
Aspen
Auzzie
Dess
Mischief (my lesson pony)
My moms is:
Harli
and my "competition" horses:
Fallon
Maverik
My goal is to have:
Aspen
Auzzie
Dess
Mischief
Fallon
:) I can only work hard and hope!
