It is officially fall here and although we have had a couple of beautiful weeks and gorgeous colors we have to have the few days of rain associated with fall. This weekend is a rainy one but a great time to start a fire, smoke some lamb and prime rib, invite some friends over and enjoy some good drinks, meals and conversations.
Got to exchange some recipe ideas and some food, and my first pumpkin pies were a success. Even though I was panicking around noon because my "easy out" idea for crust totally failed as I was too stupid to realize I had grabbed graham crust not regular crust. OOPS. So then I had to find a recipe and make my own crust really fast so I could get them in the oven. I was worried it wouldn't turn out but it was crispy and yummy! Thankfully.
Overall a very nice evening at home.
