I now have 2 for sure lesson students, one in her early to mid 40s the other is 5 1/2yrs old. I am a little worried about the 5 1/2 yr old as his mom is a definite worry wart. I think I'll bring my mom for company to help his mom relax the first time.
I finally sold Peyton. He went to an EXCELLENT home in Lostine. They use Clinton Anderson (plus others like Ray Hunt and a little Parelli but she says he kind of drives her nuts ... I agree). Her son is in Pony Club and will be in 4-H, and they love to just ride around the house. He is in VERY capable and wonderful hands. They take great care of their horses. I have the proof at my house. They were so thrilled with Peyton and with what I've done with him they sent their 7yr old BS Paint gelding Dusty to me to train and sell. He was badly beaten and abused before they aquired him, and cast off as useless and dangerous. They were going to shoot him when they stepped up and took him home. He is a very nice horse. Well put together (beautiful conformation), with a very kind eye. He has just never been taught how to be good. We think he was beat on the head a lot, he is VERY head shy. We also think he was just bucked out and roped off of, never truly "trained." He was the classic "broke" which is why I hate that term. He is slowly gaining confidence every day and has already made huge leaps and bounds. I started a blog for his family to keep tabs on him (http://vadusty.blogspot.com).
I am still in school: History 201 (us history), ANS 438 (Canadian Ag), ANS 410 (stockshow internship), ANS 317 (AI class - done/certified), SPCH 112 (public speaking)....
History is the toughest, but I enjoy History so it's not too bad. It's tough going to class 5 days a week in it though. I go to "school" 6 days a week, and give ALL my lessons Sunday afternoons. so thats a bit tough not having a true "break."
Anyways, got homework to do, post later!
