First Blog

Ok, well my family is starting a blog, and I've considered it, so I might as well. Maybe it will keep my family un-confused about my many changing plans. This would have been helpful when I had Kola, the horse I rescued for my senior project, instead of keeping a diary on my website.

Well lets see. A couple weeks ago I started Victory Acres officially. It has been my unofficial business since 2002, but now that I am 20 I felt it was time to take the "official" step of getting an Assumed Business Name. I haven't made too much, but being a full time college student with that job, and working for my mom on an as-needed basis, and trying to find another part-time job, life gets pretty hectic. In some ways I will be a full time student with 18 credit hours this term with 3 jobs and a 1/2 jobs. (1/2 being my Dad's farm).

Horses. Still have 5! My mom has one but I don't claim her. I have Aspen, a Breeding stock Paint, she's 15 and an October baby so she won't turn 16 until October. I have a Thoroughbred Gelding named Killer George (I call him Peyton). He is 16 now. I also have Kiya, Odessa and Auzzie. Kiya is my Tobiano Paint filly out of my cousin Matt's stud. She will be 2 in June and I can't wait to start her. SHE'S HUGE! She's around 15hh and not 2 yet. Odessa is my reining filly. She will be 4 in May. WOW my baby is 4. My mom, Robert (a friend), Anna (My German sister) and I all drove to Roy, WA (way the hell up PAST Seattle) to pick her up sight unseen no pre-vet! That was a gamble. Bought her my Senior Year of highschool. She is riding great, I have put around 65 rides on her and she is just a baby doll. And then there's Auzzie. He is Aspens colt. He is a buckskin QH/Paint and although ugly as sin right now cus of his winter hair, he is cute as can be in the summer, and unlike when he was a weanling he is a sweety now.

By now you've learned horses are my passion, life and obsession. Deal! If you don't like them, go away your not worth my time.

I train using Clinton Anderson Methods and they are really fun to teach to my lesson students. Their reactions crack me up. I was working with a paint mare Sunday (the 6th) and this mare has trampled me before and has NO ground manners. I put her in their round pen that they finally got and after 40 minutes in the RP she was amazing, following me around, keeping TWO EYES and NEVER two heels. The owner was like "WOW, Oh my gosh, I can't believe it! Is this the same horse?" I was just laughing inside lol.

Anyways, homework to do, post more when something interesting happens!
